Amilia Schrier, MD is a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology who specializes in the anterior segment of the eye, specifically diseases of the cornea, external disease, as well as cataract and cornea surgeries. Her focus is on academic, clinical and research efforts. She has a passion for teaching, and has been honored to receive seven “Teacher of the Year Awards” from Columbia University, Manhattan Eye Ear and Throat Hospital, and Downstate Medical Center. She serves as the DeVoe – Srinivasan Professor and Director of Ambulatory Eye Care in addition to practicing in Columbia Ophthalmic Consultants. Her research has ranged from mitotic processes of the anterior segment, to refractive outcomes of cataract surgery, and is most concentrated in infectious diseases of the anterior segment, diagnosis and treatment. In addition, Amilia Schrier, MD lectures nationally and internationally, is a member of many ophthalmologic organizations, has received The Achievement Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and sits as an examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology. |
