How to Apply

Candidates for the residency program are selected based on academic merit, personal and professional integrity, a demonstrated interest/experience in the field of ophthalmology, and a desire to provide outstanding eye care as part of a broader team of physicians and allied health care professionals.

All application materials must be submitted through the Central Application Service (CAS). For more information, please contact:

International medical graduates and non-US citizens must have a J1 visa, O visa, or permanent resident (“Green Card”) status, as New York-Presbyterian Hospital does not accept the H1B visa. An application for the J1 visa can be found at the ECFMG website.

After a completed application has been received from SF Match and reviewed by a committee of clinical and scientific faculty, select candidates will be contacted for interviews via email typically about 1 month prior to the interview dates.

Following the interviews, applicants will be ranked by the interviewing committee. For additional information, please call our residency program coordinator at 212-305-2725.
