Entropion

Involutional Entropion

Clinical Features

  • Can be seen externally as a small orifice inferior to the medial canthus
  • May be unilateral or bilateral
  • May be patent (with tears or discharges pooling or draining on the surrounding skin) or blunt as a blind sac

Management

  • In a blind sac fistula, no treatment is required
  • In a patent fistula, surgical treatment to obliterate the fistula is necessary to prevent secondary infection
